Christopher Meissner elected Vice-President of the Economic History Association

Christopher Meissner has been elected Vice-President of the Economic History Association for 2018–2019.

Founded in 1940, the Economic History Association is the principal professional society for economic history in North America. Its purpose is to promote teaching, research, and publication on all aspects of economic history, broadly defined, and to encourage and assist in the preservation and administration of the materials for research in economic history. The Association publishes the Journal of Economic History and awards a number of prizes and fellowships each year.

Professor Meissner's research focuses on the economic history of the international economy, particularly between 1870 and the present. He has expertise in international financial crises, exchange rate policy, and international trade and finance.
